Artist Spotlight: Paige Furlonge-Walker

‘Can’t Breathe’

On three canvas’, an old debit card split in half and a paint brush was the way Paige channeled her frustration. As Dave’s ‘Black’ blares out of my laptop on a constant loop, tears flowing, she created these incredible pieces that are the closest representation of how she, as a black individual, feels under the constant weight of oppression and fight for inequality, still apparent in the UK.

‘White Privilege’

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) collection was created at the height of the movement sparked by the tragic death of George Floyd in May 2020. Emotionally charged, the pieces are a key reflection on the ongoing fight for equality.
