4 Kid-Friendly Destinations for your Next Family Holiday

Want to go on a family adventure holiday but not sure where to start? Taking the whole troop away can be daunting; not only is there so much preparation involved, but you also need to plan what you want to do to avoid things being booked out. Picking the right destination is also the difference between a great holiday and one that isn’t so memorable.

Luckily, there are lots of destinations that have plenty to occupy kids. Places all over the world offer world-class activities for you all to enjoy, as well as a beautiful landscapes and cultures to immerse yourselves into.

Stari Grad, Croatia

Sitting pretty on Hvar Island that is just a short boat ride away from Dubrovnik, Star Grad is one of the oldest towns and dates back to 385BC. So, you can just imagine how much it has to offer history buffs! It’s a quiet, slow-moving place that allows you to move at your own pace.

Wondering around the small local boutiques, visiting the cafés and taking a dip at the town beach sound like wonderful activities to enjoy on your family holiday. Then, it’s off to the fortresses, monasteries and museums for a deep-dive into this small town’s ancient history.


Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort

The entertainment capital of the world for people of all ages, Walt Disney World in Florida is where your kids can meet all their favourite Disney characters, go on some of the most hair-raising rides and eat candy floss to their heart’s content. In short, it’s the stuff of dreams for adolescents.

You could spend days and days here, but if you want a change of scene, LEGOLAND Florida is just down the road! Visit all the Lego constructions, meet all the Lego men and women and marvel at the pure craftsmanship of the whole park. It has to be seen to be believed.

Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is a dizzying, constantly moving metropolis but also has plenty to keep the little ones entertained. The home of Manga and thousands of cutesy video games, head to Akihabara district where you can play video and arcade games as a family; why not turn it into a friendly tournament to make things more interesting?

Alternatively, take some time away from the screens and visit Tokyo National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea where you can see mesmerising sealife up close and personal.

Cancun, Mexico

If you’re just after a low-key holiday where you can all just lay about on the beach, Cancun offers warm weather all year round and plenty of family-friendly resorts. Enjoy the warm waters and do a spot of snorkelling, take the kayak out for an outing or hire a boat to visit uninhabited islands.
