We should all be feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

This book comes under our must reads of all time.

It summarises feminism in the most simplistic and straightforward way and is a must read whether you’re a hard-core feminist or only just familiarising yourself with the subject.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie makes it clear that feminism is about inequality, not female dominance. She also illustrates the important aspect of being feminist where people expect you to be a very masculine person. Why does it feel like we can’t be feminine AND feminist?

All it really comes down to is fighting for equal rights and being treated fairly - shouldn’t that be what everyone wants?

‘We Should All Be Feminists’ gives ‘everyday’ examples of times when people have mocked her for being a feminist or treated her as less purely because she is a woman - these are situations we can all relate to in some capacity which is why they need to stop becoming normalised.

Although feminism and women’s rights have come a long way (and we fully recognise it), it is still NOT ENOUGH and we will keep on fighting until it is.

We recommend you all to read this book to either learn more about why feminism is so important or to remind ourselves why we believe in it so strongly!
