Waking Up

Suddenly, I am awake

feeling confused

weak

shocked

Where am I?

I don’t know!

My heart racing

Then I remember hospital

A seizure just came into my room, and I cried.

And all at once it was over. 

The fear and confusion melted away.

The lights were on, and now they are off again.

Everything is alright. 

It was just a dream. 

A dream?

Yes, a dream.

Epilepsy is not a nightmare.

I am safe in my hospital bed, and I will be alright.

I know this now. I know this now.
