Top 5 Sustainable Period Brands to suit everyone.

I think we can all agree that “our time of the month” is not an exciting experience. It can be very difficult to find what works for you in terms of using tampons, sanitary pads or even period underwear. Luckily these products are widely available however there is another challenge. Our plastic consumption is irreparable and switching to sustainable menstrual products is a great way to reduce your plastic footprint and a step every bleeding human should take! The brands mentioned below are all amazing however there are many more to choose from if these are not your cup of tea :)

D A M E.

D A M E. first started in 2015 by Alec and Celia who decided to go plastic free after launching a period company drowning in plastic. They began with their tampon applicator because menstrual cups and reusable pads can sound daunting! Their mission is to “shake things up in the industry” by not only presenting sustainable options but pushing to adopt a sustainable way of living. For this they use the media with bold advertising e.g. recent London bus campaign. They believe that taboos need to be put aside, leaving space for sustainability and acceptability.

Products:

  • reusable tampon applicators and cotton tampons

  • reusable period pads

  • tampons set
