Day Four at Sziget Festival, 2025
The fourth day at Sziget Festival was filled with visually immersive sets, genre-defying music and mesmerising performances. FKA twigs and Anyma performed on the main stage, and Hermanos Gutiérrez created a relaxed atmosphere on the Revolut stage.

FKA twigs produced a captivating performance on the mainstage that combined theatricality, dance and showcased her vocal prowess. As a highly conceptual artist, her style draws from R&B and art-pop. Her recent album Euxsexua was released in January this year and received high critical acclaim.
Her set was divided into three acts: The Practice, State of Being and The Pinnacle. During her performance, the way twigs interacted with her backing dancers was a highlight, they occupied the stage on equal level. Her opening song ‘Perfect Stranger’ was accompanied by her dancers contorting their bodies standing on top of a metal cube. When Twigs grabs the microphone, her vocal range is jaw-dropping with every note carefully crafted to convey her emotion. An extended version of ‘Eusexua’ was played next – a song that defies musical convention by combining many different genres. FKA twigs coined the term ‘Eusexua’ after a night out in Prague when she explained in an interview: “No one has their phones out, everybody's dancing … It's just for the people there that really experience it.” Towards the end of Act Two, ‘Sushi’ was mixed with elements of Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ as Twigs and her dancers vogued across the stage. The closing song ‘Cellophane’ was the emotional pinnacle of FKA twigs’s performance – it was impossible to tear your eyes away from the stage.
Hermanos Gutiérrez
The nature of Sziget Festival often means bouncing between different stages, and with time to spare between the end of FKA Twigs’s set and Anyma’s set, I went with a friend’s recommendation to watch Hermanos Gutiérrez on the Revolut stage. Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez are the two brothers that make up the two-piece Latin instrumental band. After a few days of high-energy sets, the chilled out atmosphere was definitely needed. Their music is inspired by their travels, specifically to the desert and the American South West. Similar to the desert, their set up is sparse with only two chairs and two hollow body acoustic guitars between them. For ‘Tres Hermanos’, Alejandro Gutiérrez made interesting use of a Rickenbacker Electro NS lap steel guitar.

Huge swathes of people gathered at the main stage for the headliner of the evening: Italian-American DJ and visual artist, Anyma. As a DJ and producer, Anyma has worked with big artists in the industry including Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd.
His use of visual projections, pyrotechnics and lasers created an immersive experience. One of the opening songs, ‘Voices in my Head’ immediately created a buzz in the crowd. From the Genys album, ‘Consciousness’ and ‘Simulation’ were accompanied by visuals that created a full sensory experience. His remix of ‘Turn on the Lights’ by Fred Again … was a throw back for anyone at Sziget in 2024 when Fred Again… played. Whilst many in the crowd were disappointed that Anyma did not bring out Travis Scott for his performance as he did in his recent Ibiza set, Anyma’s futuristic aesthetic created an electrifying performance.
