Nisi Collective: The Aussie Surf Brand Making Wetsuits Worth Wearing (On & Off the Beach)

There's a certain kind of brand that just gets it.

The ones building pieces you actually want to live in, not just wear for a purpose and peel off.

Nisi Collective is one of those brands, and these two pieces proved it to me, without a doubt.

The Milly Short Sleeve in Deep Navy ($170 AUD)

First things first, this is not your average wetsuit top.

The Milly is made from BIO-SS, a bio-based material derived from rubber trees and sugar cane, which means it's 100% neoprene-free and genuinely sustainable. It's 2mm thick, so it's doing its job in the water, but what surprised me most was how soft it feels against the skin - no scratchy rubber vibes here.

The stretch is incredible too; getting it on and off (no zip!) is way easier than you'd expect, and it holds its shape beautifully. The deep navy is that classic, rich shade that goes with everything too, so it’s not a garish, faded-before-you-know-it kind of blue. Honestly, it's the kind of top that makes you want to go surfing, just to wear it.

The Ammos Linen Pant in Aspro/White ($180 AUD)

These are the after to the Milly's before. The throw-on-and-go casual trousers you want waiting for you when you come out of the water. Made from a 55% linen, 45% rayon blend, they're lightweight without being flimsy, and way less wrinkly than your usual linen, which honestly is a massive bonus.

The fit is relaxed and oversized with a drawstring waist, so sizing is forgiving and, more importantly, adjustable. Deep pockets, a zip and button closure means they have proper, functional details. In white (or "Aspro" as Nisi calls it, which is the Greek word for white, which I love), they look effortlessly summery paired back with the navy top straight from a session or just over your wet swimmers for an afternoon at the beach post-surf.

The two together are a proper beach-to-street combo, and the kind that makes you look like you've got your life together even when you've just rolled out of the sea and are searching for your morning coffee.

Please note: these two pieces were gifted to me to review, but all reviews are completely based on my own opinion.
