Writer’s note: Even though these shoes were gifted to me, all the thoughts and opinions shared here are completely my own. My reviews are based on my personal experience with the products, and I aim to give you an honest, unbiased perspective.
There are few things I love more than finding a pair of shoes that look good, go with absolutely everything and don't leave me counting down the minutes until I can take them off. Enter TWOOBS and their BFF+ flatform flip-flops.
If, like me, you're not particularly keen on high heels but still want something a little more elevated than your everyday flat sandals, these might just become a new summer wardrobe staple.
Comfort is everything
Let's start with the obvious: these shoes are so squishy. The BFF+ flatforms have that satisfyingly cushioned feel that makes you want to slip them on every morning, and the chocolate brown colour is exactly the kind of neutral I've been looking for.
But what really sold me was how easy they are to style. The rich brown shade works with pretty much everything in my wardrobe, from tailored trousers and linen shirts to summer dresses and more casual weekend outfits. They're one of those rare purchases that don't require you to rethink your entire outfit around your shoes.
And honestly, anything that makes getting dressed in the morning easier gets a big tick from me.
The ultimate summer work shoe?
One of my biggest frustrations with corporate workwear in summer is finding shoes that look polished without sacrificing comfort. Heels have never really been my thing, and while I love a good sandal, not every pair feels quite right for a more professional setting ,(Birkenstocks, cough cough).
The TWOOBS BFF+ flatforms strike that balance beautifully. They give you a little extra height without the feeling of wearing traditional high heels, making them a great option for those days when you want to look put-together but still feel like yourself.
The chocolate brown colour also makes them incredibly versatile. Whether I'm pairing them with linen trousers for a meeting, a smart dress for the office or a more relaxed outfit for a working lunch, they fit seamlessly into the look.
They're the kind of shoes that make a summer work wardrobe feel a little less predictable without trying too hard.
But Are They Actually Comfortable for Walking?
In the interest of full transparency, I wore my new TWOOBS for an entire day of walking on my very first outing. By the end of the day, I'd clocked over 12,000 steps and developed a small blister.
Now, before anyone panics, I think it's worth putting that into perspective. Walking more than 12,000 steps in a brand-new pair of shoes is probably not the fairest test of any footwear! A little breaking-in time is always sensible, and I wouldn't necessarily hold that against them. My Doc Martens took ages to break in, and now they’re moulded to my feet - case in point.
What I can say is that the cushioning felt incredibly comfortable, and I was impressed by how much walking I managed in a pair of shoes I'd only just taken out of the box. I'd simply recommend wearing them for shorter periods initially before committing to a full day of exploring.
A summer wardrobe staple
I'm genuinely obsessed with my new shoes - almost as much as I’m obsessed with the brand name TWOOBS! They're comfortable, versatile and stylish, ticking all the boxes for a summer shoe that works just as well for the office as it does for the weekend.
While I'd recommend breaking them in gradually rather than immediately taking on a full day of walking, the cushioned feel and effortless styling have already made these a favourite.
Would I recommend them? Absolutely. If you're looking for a comfortable, versatile alternative to heels that still feels polished enough for work, the TWOOBS BFF+ flatforms deserve a place on your summer shopping list.
