Shake off the cloak of despair

Chills that run down my spine

Scars that actively define

Sending messages of fear

Yet ever silent to the ear

Quakes that permeate my soul

Strikes a chord to shake my goal

Seeks to unseat my direction

By its vocal sly deflection

Pity resists this misdirection

Sparks much strength in this direction.

Sending messages of hope

To shake off that fearful cloak.
