8 reasons why we love Jessika Power from Married At First Sight Australia

If you haven’t had Jessika Power gracing your lockdown 3 screens as part of Married At First Sight Australia (Season 6) - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Known for taking no prisoners, no shit, and being basically sassy TV gold, we’re rounding up all the reasons why we just love Jessika.

  1. She’s just a normal girl from WA

That’s right folks, Jess hails from Western Australia, and although she’s now a worldwide influencer and TV star, at heart she’s still the same Aussie girl from WA and isn’t shy about chucking on the wellies or doing a bit of plumbing when needed.

2. Although she made some mistakes on MAFS (Married At First Sight), she ultimately was trying to follow her heart

For those who haven’t watched the show, spoilers incoming. Jess was originally married to Mick, but as the experiment continued it became clear that there wasn’t anything there romantically. She set eyes on newcomer Dan who was married to Tamara, and although she didn’t go about it in the right way as they technically canoodled behind Mick and Tamara’s backs, she ended up coupling up with Dan for the remainder of the show. She stayed with Dan after the season ended and although the relationship didn’t work out, she did end up moving states to be with him.

3. She promotes female pleasure

A lot of influencers over here in the UK especially shy away from talking about female pleasure unless they work in that specific industry (i.e. for a vibrator brand or are a doctor or speaker on sexual health). That’s why we love that Jess openly works with brands like Viva on promoting vibrators and other sex toys that improve female pleasure. She also talks frequently about taboos on female sexuality and the importance of self-love. Jess, you’re our idol.

4. She is the first guest on The C Word Mag’s podcast Confession Sessions!

We are as shocked as you guys were when we managed to get Jessika as our first ever podcast guest. We chat to Jess about our confessions (and hers), mental health, MAFS (Married At First Sight Australia) and body image. Catch the episode on Spotify and Google Podcasts.

5. She is an ACTUAL badass

You may have heard Jessika talk about her experiences with mental health and her brother attempting suicide and ex partner actually committing suicide on the phone to her. The girl has been through A LOT and has come out of the other side like an absolute boss. Even better, she regularly calls out social media trolls publicly on her Instagram stories which we are all about.

6. She doesn’t take herself too seriously

Often with people who become influencers through social media, the need to always be ‘on’ and ‘online’ is ever present. Which means often that people take themselves WAY too seriously, but not Jess. She’s always up for a laugh, happy to take the piss out of herself and here for a good time.

7. She’s open about her body changes

Whether it’s lip fillers or other injectables or the documentation of her veneer process, we LOVE that Jessika is so open with her followers about the changes she makes to her body. We chat to her about this in our podcast episode but as long as she’s doing it for her (which she is), and she feels and looks great, we are all for it. You go girl.

8. She is going to be starting her own ‘Ask Jess’ column on The C Word Mag!!

YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!!! Jessika has been looking to create a space and open forum for women to be able to express and get advice on relationship trauma. As Jess herself has had her fair share of this, she’s asking YOU to send us your relationship stories and traumas and she will respond to you via a monthly column right here on our website. If you want your name to remain anonymous, all you have to do is let us know. Got a story to tell and want Jess’ advice? Send us an email below.
