I have not seen you,
Nor heard you speak
Yet I have felt you.

You are everywhere I go.
The first time I felt you,
Fear crept into my bones.
But now,
You linger beside me
Like a silent companion.

You steal the quiet from my nights,
Keeping sleep far away from my eyes.
Your presence startles me,
My heart skipping restless beats.
Tell me, are you a soul?

Yet you also bring
A fragile ray of hope,
Untangling my unsure emotions,
An answer to my chaotic mind.
Tell me again
Are you a soul?

Who are you?
Why are you here?
Where are you from?
Why is it only I can feel you?

I know you will not harm me,
Yet sudden waves of fear
Find their way to me.
Neither a friend nor a foe,
Yet always by my side.
So tell me
