Quick fire questions with Sabina Mach

You may have noticed Sabina Mach in the action and sci-Fi feature film The Perfect Weapon opposite Steven Seagal, but she has also landed supporting roles in crime drama movie LA Rush starring Elijah Wood, and the thriller Fatale with Hilary Swank. Her unique ethnically ambiguous look has also led to success modelling for Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, and Guess. If that wasn’t enough, Sabina has also found success starring in music videos, where she has worked with artists like Halsey and Post Malone. Basically, she’s kind of killing it. We have a chat with Sabina to find out more about her.

How did you become interested in the world of performing, music, modelling and acting?

Since birth, my grandma retells this story to everyone, she was a midwife and all the kids when born were crying, and when I was born and through out childhood I would sing-cry and from that moment she knew that’s what I was going to do. Growing up I was always performing like a ham, and not until teenager years I realised this was a career path that existed. Once I knew that, there was no going back.

How does your background and upbringing affect your work?

My background gives me meaning and purpose to everything I’m doing now. As in you must have experienced all of that for a reason.

What are three artists that you are always compared to?

Liv Tyler, Lana del Ray and Audrey Hepburn.

What is your creative process like?

For me creativity is something I can’t live without. I’m always feeling so many emotions at a time, and I learned to use all of them in my work instead of putting them away or ignoring my thoughts.

What are your main responsibilities as an artist or creative person?

To make the world more beautiful. My responsibility is to help as many people and animals I can through my platform. Personally, if I can give hope and stop anyone from suicide through my art then this all had meaning.

Is artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?

I thought that to be a true artist it has to be a lonely road, that way you stay focused and not get distracted from your destination. I ended up getting a bunch of animals to keep me company, to take care of them, and feel love. Thinking you can reward yourself later, but now I know it doesn’t have to be lonely. You can still accomplish what you wish, and enjoy the process no matter how frustrating it can be at times.

What would you say or define as an artistic outlook on life?

Before you give up on something you really wanted to accomplish or on yourself, just try to do it first and something amazing will come out of it. I promise.

Also the longer you postpone doing it, debating or for any other reason, you ‘ll still get back to it later, so might as well do it now. If you are meant to do something life will keep bringing it up.

What social issue are you most passionate about?

Homeless animals is a sore subject to me. Also lonely, neglected elderly is something that breaks my heart, seeing and hearing their life stories, so I’m always around that. Putting animals with lonely seniors that still have so much life in them is what I found truly brings joy to me and everyone involved.
